2024 Recap & Learnings
Consumers continued to drive record sales of customized products during the holiday gift-giving season in 2024. Every statistic indicated a record-setting year for Spectrum, including a 13% increase in the quantity of products sold during Cyber Weekend compared to 2023. Historically, we've seen a substantial traffic spike around this popular shopping weekend, but last year clearly showed that online shoppers are active earlier than ever and well into December.

Performance Focus
At Spectrum, we are always investing in continued performance refinements for our clients. Our key areas of performance improvements in 2025 included the following updates as part of platform licensing:
3DTrue v4: The latest version of our 3DTrue renderer, released in early Q4, was developed with performance at the forefront.
Reduced 3D textures: 3DTrue v4 allowed Spectrum to make the switch to .webp textures, reducing our overall texture size without impacting visual fidelity.
Moderation rate limiting: For those of you who leverage Spectrum's advanced moderation features, we rolled out rate limiting to protect against automated moderation requests that could result in excessive charges and reduced performance.
Scalable Infrastructure
Spectrum platform resources are configured to automatically expand to handle higher traffic, ensuring fast response times throughout the entire season - even during peak hours.
Customer Support
In addition to employing 24/7 monitoring and automated alerts, we've also designated technical support staff to be available throughout the season, including holidays. In the unlikely event that you should need support for a production issue, please continue to send requests through your project manager during regular business hours. Code Freezes
To mitigate risk during peak traffic, Spectrum will not deploy non-critical code changes during the following time periods:
November 21 - December 10
December 19 - January 7
